Gifts are so fast and easy to make when you have ready-made gifts using DIY mercury glass on hand. Today, we are actually doing a part two of the last video that I created; how to DIY your own mercury glass.

How is faux mercury glass made?
DIY mercury glass is easy to make and you only need a Looking Glass spray paint and a water and vinegar mixture. That’s it. It’s very easy to make your own mercury glass type glassware. The gifts using the mercury glass effect were made with a water/vinegar mixture and Looking Glass spray.
You may want to read the blog and watch the video first and then circle back and watch this one to better understand the process of how these were made. I will leave that link HERE.
Gift types using DIY mercury glassware
Today, I will be showing the quick and easy gifts that can be made for a few dollars using the glassware that you gave a DIY mercury glass faux finish to.
You can buy clear glass items from the dollar store and give them a mercury glass effect. I bought three heart glass candy dishes and I will use them for candy and live plant containers.
Making spa gifts using DIY mercury glassware
Let’s make some spa gifts. These are so easy and again be creative. I found Parmesan shakers for$.35 each from the thrift store and then I used the mercury glass technique on them.
Watch the YOUTUBE video now below:
Recipe for bath Fizzies
Dead sea salt-1/2 cup
Baking soda-1/4 cup
Epsom salts-1/2 cup
Citric acid-1/8 cup
Essential oil-10-20 drops
I like to add the essential oil to the Dead Sea salts the day before so it absorbs into the salt. Once it’s absorbed, it won’t cause the mixture to “fizzy” until it hits the bathwater.
Using beeswax candles and tapers as gifts
It’s nice to add hand-dipped beeswax candles for gifts. I make natural beeswax candles throughout the year. I will be doing a tutorial very soon before the woodstove is too hot too late. Stay tuned for that!
