Farmhouse living simple handmade

About me:

My hubby of 31 plus years (as of 2020) and I live in (hopefully the last home we will ever build) a 90-year-old log cabin we rescued. Hauling the logs and clearing the road took 2 years. We used a backhoe, bulldozer, truck, and four-wheeler to haul the logs.  We did all the construction, including digging a pond.  Fast forward many years later from that; we are still working every day on tweaking, changing, and finalizing each room (so hubby thinks) wink-wink!

At one time, our farm had 140 goats, turkeys, chickens, quail, ducks, and more. We only have a small farm now. Our little farm consists of 2 fur-babies, a handful of chickens, 2 guinea hens, and 2 inside birds.

As a request from my mother on our last conversation; she asked me not to leave my talents under a bushel and share my knowledge and experience with the world. Even though she knew I am an introvert and I keep to myself. It has been several years since my mother stated that to me. I now have a desire to fulfill her wish by putting myself out there and hope someone will benefit from my story.

A Few Fun Facts About Me:

I hang out my laundry every chance I get. Click here to see that in action:     https://bit.ly/2OXHplx

After dinner, I always eat a piece of dark chocolate.

I never switch a light on after dark, I use a rechargeable flashlight throughout the night to see my way.

I am obsessed with borderline fanatic about LINEN-anything linen makes me breathe heavy with joy!

Music, comedy, and rags to riches stories are some of the things I enjoy.

Since I was 23, I have built 7 homes, constructing them all myself, and learning new techniques along the way.

I love cleaning, organizing, and minimizing whenever possible.

I had my Realtor license in New York (it was not something I liked, at all), I failed my first try and had to retake the test.

I had my CDL license in New York, I used to drive the log truck to the log mill to sell logs that we cut down. (Not a fan of that either).

I have 2 degrees, Police Science and Business, which I completed in 2 years instead of the usual 4 years. I maintained an A average and completed each semester on the Dean’s list or the President’s list. I was placed on the National Honor Society. Needless to say, I love learning anything. I am grateful to have the attention to detail and motivation to learn each and every day.

Some of my favorite crafts are quilting, sewing, weaving, spinning (still learning), cooking, baking, and container gardening.

In a nutshell about me:

I find comfort in the tranquility of nature around versus being in a crowded room and if I were sentenced to my mountain home and not allowed to leave, I would be at peace with that!

I am a soap maker for the last 25 years. It started when we had a few milking goats when the children were little and my son developed psoriasis. I wanted to develop an all-natural soap recipe that would benefit him. From that time, I have developed all our soap and cleaning needs using the purest and organic products possible. I have been selling full-time on Amazon for almost 2 years now and I enjoy meeting so many happy and satisfied customers.
